> wheatgrass seeds
Wheatgrass is wheat grown to a baby leaf stage, a highly nutritious and cleansing food source rich in vitamins, minerals, Amino acids, antioxidants and enzymes.
It is said to: · Lower blood pressure and cholesterol level · Increase Haemoglobin (red blood cells) · Relieve blood sugar disorders such as Diabetes · Aid in the prevention of some cancers · Neutralise and eliminate toxins in the body.
Use a good quality organic potting mix or vegetable mix. Fill a seedling tray with the potting mix.
Sow the seedling trays thickly with seed - approximately 100g-150g (¾ to 1 cup). Lightly cover with potting mix. Keep well watered. Harvest at 10-15 days when shoots are 20-25cm high. Discard root mass.
The seedlings trays can be left outside in a sheltered spot, or grown inside on a kitchen bench or window sill.
Harvest at 10-15 days when shoots are 20-25cm high. It is easiest to harvest the top growth by cutting with a pair of scissors.
Put shoots in a food processor or blender and reduce to a liquid mass.
Drink 5-10 mls per day washed down with 2 glasses of water preferably at meal times.
You may be able to get 2 harvests from one sowing, just wait for the wheatgrass to grow back.
Wheatgrass is very easy to grow and can also be sown directly into a vegetable garden.
Can be stored in the fridge for a week or frozen/freeze dried without any loss of goodness.
Put the roots and potting mix left in the tray into your garden or compost bin once you have harvested all the wheatgrass.
This is a 1kg bag at a great price.
